Artistric Instructor
Kris Z.
Kris retired from a long teaching career most recently at Homestead HS in Mequon. Since she loves to travel, she studied in Germany and Spain. She has enjoyed travel to Ireland, Scotland, England - kind of like her homeland. Some of the most impressive places she has visited are the Alps, the Great Wall in China, Macchu Picchu in Peru. Kris believes patience is a key to learning bonsai techniques. In the beginning and because she was afraid to make mistakes, she was a card carrying member for a while. As a visual learner she attended many workshops / demos to pick up the art. Still somewhat reticent working on trees she is not not familiar with, and with guidance from visiting artists, she is no longer fearful of cutting, pruning, or re-potting.
Kris has been president of MBS and has been on the MBS board for 15 years. She has served as editor and has written several articles for the newsletter. Recently she has been teaching Bonsai Hacks and How to show your Bonsai.
